We are down to our final week of our 2nd quarter! Time really does fly when you are learning! We will have end of the quarter testing this week! Please make sure your scholar is on time and gets a good nights rest this week! As always please email me if you have any questions!

Please continue to study all 70 phonograms. In math, we will be reviewing everything we have learned thus far in second grade. We will be taking an end of the semester test on Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be no homework in math this week. In history we will be completing our studies on Ancient Greece. There will be a review on Monday and the test will be on Tuesday. In Literature we will be learning about mythical creatures on Monday. We will review gods/goddesses/mythical creatures on Tuesday and have a test Wednesday. There will be no grammar this week, but please continue to have your scholar read through their grammar worksheet. I hope that everyone has a restful and joyous winter break!

In math, we will work on remainders and odd and even numbers. On Friday, we will have a test covering all multiplication and division of 2s and 3s. In history, we will continue our study of Ancient Greece. There will not be a test this week. Please be sure to complete a summary each night and review all journal entries on Ancient Greece. In literature, we will continue to study the Greek gods and goddesses. This week, we will learn about Demeter, Dionysus, and Hestia. In grammar, we will spend further time reviewing nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives on Tuesday and have a quiz on Thursday. Questions to find the noun: Who or What? Questions to find the verb: What is being said about the subject noun? Questions to find the adverb: How, when, where Questions to find the adjective: What kind, which one, how many. Review the grammar worksheet that will come home in the Red Folder each night. Today a grammar worksheet will be coming home for practice over the weekend. Please take the time to look over it with your scholar.
