Parents,
We are in our final week of March! April brings a lot of exciting adventures with the beautiful weather! Looking forward to our upcoming field trip and the students are ready for an exciting Field Day! Please email me if you have any questions! Upcoming events: Monday-Thursday, March 26-29 - Food & Water Collection Drive for St. Mary's Food Bank Tuesday, March 27 - PSO Family Night at Chipotle, 4-8 PM Friday, March 30 - No school Thursday, April 5 - 2nd Grade Field Trip to the Desert Botanical Gardens Friday, April 6 - Field Day Chaperones have been chosen! Due to the high volume and limited spots, a drawing was completed. If you emailed me interested in chaperoning, you will receive an email on Monday letting you know of the results. This week: Spalding- Your scholar will have 17 new words this week. All spelling words are to be written in cursive each night. Please have your scholar write their words in their best Spalding cursive. Markings need to be done on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday you should dictate all 17 words to your scholar. Markings are not required on Wednesday, but words must be written in cursive. ****If your child is misspelling a word, please mark it wrong and have them correct it on their homework. Math- We will begin a unit on fractions. Students love fractions because we talk about fun foods and how to divide them into equal parts. There will be a quiz on Thursday. Please continue to work on basic math facts at home with your child. Addition and subtraction facts through 20 should be mastered by the end of the year. History - We will continue our history unit on The Civil War. There will be a test on Thursday. Literature- We will continue to read The Magician's Nephew. Scholars are loving this story! Writing and Grammar- Students will write three paragraphs, two sentences in each, on an excerpt of The Story of the Greeks. Two of the six sentences will be completed in cursive! Please email me if you have any questions! Mrs. Bejarano
