Wednesday, November 22: Half Day Dismissal-NO LUNCHES November 23-24: No School Monday, December 4: Winter Concert-Students arrive at 6:45 Concert at 7:15 This week: Spalding- Due to the short week, your scholar will only have 10 new words this week. Monday night, your scholar will receive a piece of paper, in their red folder, with the 10 words that were studied in class that day. Please dictate the 10 words to your scholar 3 times in different orders. As your scholar writes the words, they need to also do the markings for each word. Please have your scholar write their words in their best Spalding handwriting. Markings need to be done on Monday. Tuesday you should dictate all 10 words to your scholar. Markings are not required on Tuesday. The test will be on Wednesday! ****If your child is misspelling a word, please mark it wrong and have them correct it on their homework. Scholars need to study phonograms 1-70 every night. If your scholar can say all 70 phonogram sounds, please practice having them write their phonograms as you dictate to them. Math- We will continue to multiply, this week by 3's. It would be beneficial for your student to continue to skip count by two's and three's. There will be a quiz on Wednesday. History-We will finish learning about Alexander the Great. We will have a review on Tuesday and a Unit 2 test on Wednesday. Literature- We will finish reading the Iliad. The students have thoroughly enjoyed this story and the connects to our history lessons! We will be starting Little House in the Big Woods after the Thanksgiving Break. Grammar/Writing- We will be writing summaries using key words from our reading excerpt. We will also continue to learn about adverbs. I hope you have a fun filled long weekend with your loved ones!
