We are almost through our 1st semester of 2nd grade! We have a very busy week ahead! There have been a lot of tummy aches, sore throats, coughs and headaches. Literature- We will begin reading Little House in the Big Woods. We will read chapters 1-4 in class and there will be a quiz on Friday over these 4 chapters. Students are allowed to bring their books home to reread each chapter read in class for that day, but I strongly encourage students to not read ahead. Grammar/Writing- We will continue to study adverbs. Students will be coming up with some of their own adverbs and replacing adverbs in a sentence with some of their own. It is a great illustration of how the Greeks' belief in the gods and goddesses influenced their daily lives and choices, even within war.
